The game between third ranked Flamengo (8-2) and 14th ranked SKY/Basquete (2-8) in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Flamengo outscored guests from Aldeota 106-73. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. SKY/Basquete managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flamengo shot 61.2 percent from the field. Flamengo outrebounded SKY/Basquete 37-21 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who scored that evening 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and international power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. Andrezao de Sousa (198-90) added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flamengo have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bauru. SKY/Basquete lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Flamengo will meet Macae (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. SKY/Basquete will play against Brasilia and hope to secure a win.
