The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Nice as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Nice smashed 11th ranked Le Havre at home 80-53. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Le Havre. The game was mostly controlled by Nice. Le Havre was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nice forced 26 Le Havre turnovers. The winners were led by Laetitia Guapo (180-95) who scored that evening 15 points and American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) supported her with 18 points. Four Nice players scored in double figures. Nice's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by Senegalese center Aida Fall (192-86) did not help to save the game for Le Havre. point guard Joelly Belleka (163-95) added 14 points. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Le Havre at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Le Havre will play next round against Aulnoye trying to get back on the winning streak. Nice will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Roche at La Roche.
