Regular Season Round 10: FSU - Hamar 95-87

An interesting game for FSU (8-1) which hosted in Selfoss one of their biggest challengers Hamar (7-3). Second ranked FSU managed to get a 8-point victory 95-87. Hamar was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 29-19 charge of FSU, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. point guard Hlynur Hreinsson (174-92) contributed with 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. FSU's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Orn Sigurdarson (202-89) replied with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Julian Nelson (190, college: Coker) added 19 points and 10 assists in the effort for Hamar. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FSU have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-1 record behind leader Hottur. Hamar at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. FSU are looking forward to face Breidablik (#6) in Kopavogur in the next round. Hamar will play at home against the league's leader Hottur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
