Regular Season Round 23: Pioneros - Titanicos 124-88

The game with biggest result difference took place in Cancun. Local Pioneros (14-6) outscored 10th ranked Titanicos (8-14) 124-88 on Thursday night. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pioneros outrebounded Titanicos 41-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 22 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Pioneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Titanicos' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. The former international forward Stephen Soriano (200-85, college: Colorado Mesa) helped adding 17 points. Pioneros' coach Manuel Cintron felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Maurice Riddick (188-79, college: Beth.-Cookman) responded with 24 points and Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros moved-up to fourth place. Titanicos lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Pioneros will meet at home Abejas (#8) in the next round. Titanicos will play against Gigantes in Toluca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
