The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Kumamoto V.'s (1-16) road loss to fifth ranked Wakayama T. (4-13) 65-72 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kumamoto V. won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Bahamas forward Zane Knowles (208-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Nigerian center Cyril Awere (211-85) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Kumamoto V.'s coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Wakayama T. maintains fifth position with 4-13 record. Kumamoto V. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Wakayama T. will again meet at home Kumamoto V. (#6) in the next round. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round.
