Very predictable result when sixth ranked Denain Voltaire (8-4) beat at home 11th ranked Poitiers (5-7) 72-65. The hosts were already 23 points ahead at halftime and as many as 24 after three quarters before a 25-8 last quarter charge of Poitiers cut the lead to 72-65 at the end of the game. Denain Voltaire dominated on the defensive end, holding Poitiers to just 6 points in first quarter. The winners were led by American guard Austin Hollins (193-91, college: Minnesota) who scored that evening 20 points and the other American import power forward Erroyl Bing (198-82, college: E.Carolina) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Denain Voltaire's coach Jean-Christophe Prat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Poitiers. Forward Pierre-Yves Guillard (201-84) added 6 points and 14 rebounds. Denain Voltaire moved-up to fourth place. Poitiers at the other side keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost.
