Regular Season Round 21: TianJin S. - Foshan LL 112-123

The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Foshan's (11-10) road victory over 13th ranked TianJin Steel (7-14) 123-112. The game was mostly controlled by Foshan. TianJin Steel was better in third quarter 30-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 39 points (!!!) and 5 steals for the winners. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) answered with 30 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for TianJin Steel. Four Foshan and five TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Foshan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Shandong FB and Shanghai S. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Foshan's next round opponent will be Jiangsu TX (#17) at home and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Steel will play against Sichuan BW (#18) and hope to win that game.
