Regular Season Round 12: Nantes - Le Portel 84-79

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Le Portel (6-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Nantes (6-6) 84-79. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Le Portel won fourth quarter 33-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nantes shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. The winners were led by swingman Nicolas Gayon (190-82) who scored that evening 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) supported him with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) did not help to save the game for Le Portel. Guard Benoit Mangin (194-88) added 16 points and 5 assists. Four Nantes and five Le Portel players scored in double figures. Nantes moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Le Portel. Nantes' next round opponent will be Poitiers (#12) at home.
