Regular Season Round 12: Rosa Radom - Trefl Sopot 73-62

Rather expected game in Radom where 7th ranked Trefl (6-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Rosa (9-3) 73-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Rosa. Trefl managed to win second period 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Trefl to just 6 points in first quarter. Rosa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center John Turek (205-83, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) who added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Rosa players scored in double figures. Rosa's coach Wojciech Kaminski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was international Michal Michalak (197-93) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (205-90) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Rosa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Slask Wroclaw and Stelmet ZG. Loser Trefl dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Energa Czarni and Asseco. Rosa will meet Stelmet (#4) in the next round. Trefl will play against Polpharma and hope to secure a win.
