Regular Season Round 14: TuRi - ViVe 69-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked TuRi's (2-12) home loss to ninth ranked ViVe (4-10) 69-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ViVe. TuRi managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 20. They outrebounded TuRi 52-31 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Kenya McBee (188-83, college: N.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 22 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Breanna Salley (180-87, college: Seattle) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. ViVe's coach Jukka-Pekka Kujala used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Amber Moore (180-90, college: Illinois) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. ViVe moved-up to eighth place, which they share with FoA. TuRi lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. ViVe will meet at home higher ranked HyPo (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TuRi will play against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
