Regular Season Round 23: Okinawa GK - Shiga L-Stars 80-67

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-6) were defeated on the road by third ranked Okinawa GK (18-3) 80-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-67. Okinawa GK made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Okinawa GK moved-up to second place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Shiga L-Stars (#5) at home in the next round.
