Rather predictable result when sixth ranked WKK Wroclaw (7-6) beat at home 8th ranked Pogon RS (5-9) 79-63 on Saturday. Pogon RS was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-8 charge of WKK Wroclaw, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Pogon RS turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Jakub Niziol (198-96) who scored 15 points. Point guard Michal Jedrzejewski (185-98) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Four WKK Wroclaw players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Pawel Mol (180-87) who recorded 13 points and center Adam Andula (201-87) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. WKK Wroclaw maintains sixth place in Group C with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Pogon RS keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. WKK Wroclaw will face MKS DG 2 (#9) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round. Pogon RS will play at home against Mickiewicz and hope to win that game.
