Very important is a road loss of second ranked UB Chartres (9-4) against tenth ranked Saint Vallier (7-6) on Saturday night. Visiting UB Chartres was defeated by Saint Vallier in a tough game in Saint Vallier 89-98. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of UB Chartres. It looked good early as UB Chartres took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Saint Vallier had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and UB Chartres was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-98. Saint Vallier forced 20 UB Chartres turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Saint Vallier players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. UB Chartres was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 assists. American power forward Kurt Cunningham (205-87, college: Boise St.) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (206-84, college: Northeastern, agency: KMG Sports Management) came up with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) added 26 points respectively for UB Chartres in the defeat. Five Saint Vallier and four UB Chartres players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier moved-up to seventh place, which they share with La Rochelle and GET Vosges. UB Chartres at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Lourdes. Saint Vallier will play against GET Vosges (#8) in Golbey in the next round. UB Chartres will play at home against Sorgues BC (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
