There was a surprise result in Quilpue where seventh ranked Osorno (11-10) edged much higher ranked Los Leones (15-6) 90-89 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 20 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. American forward Perris Blackwell (206, college: Washington) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Rodrigo Munoz (186-80) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Osorno's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Aaron Nelson (203, college: S.Indiana, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and his fellow American import forward Leonard Washington (201-88, college: Wyoming, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Osorno and four Los Leones players scored in double figures. Osorno moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Colo Colo and CDU Catolica. Loser Los Leones keep the second position with six games lost. Osorno will face Universidad Catolica (#7) in Santiago in the next round. Los Leones will play at home against Deportivo Valdivia (#10) and hope to win that game.
