Regular Season Round 14: Breogan - Valladolid 80-62

The game in Lugo was quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Blancos de Rueda (8-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (9-4). Leche Rio Breogan did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-62 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blancos de Rueda. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Leche Rio Breogan forced 19 Blancos de Rueda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Daniel Lopez (188-82) chipped in 8 points and 11 assists. Leche Rio Breogan's coach Lisardo Gomez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sergi Pino (197-87) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Roman Montanez (191-79) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Leche Rio Breogan have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Blancos de Rueda at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Burgos. Leche Rio Breogan is looking forward to face bottom-ranked CB Prat (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Blancos de Rueda will play against Burgos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
