Regular Season Round 24: Panteras - Huracanes 91-81

Another upset was a game between Huracanes (14-8) and Panteras (9-13), which took place in Aguascalientes. Higher ranked Huracanes lost to tenth ranked Panteras in a road game 81-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Huracanes. The game was mostly controlled by Panteras. Huracanes was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 36. They outrebounded Huracanes 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Panteras players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Dallas Logan (193-82, college: Northwood, agency: Tycoon Sports Inc.) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Panteras moved-up to ninth place. Huracanes at the other side keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Panteras will have a break next round. Huracanes will play at home against Halcones UV Xalapa (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
