Round 13 in 1Liga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Pruszkow where host Znicz Basket (8-5) beat league's leader Stal Ostrow (10-3) 78-64 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Znicz Basket. Stal Ostrow managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Stal Ostrow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Marcin Kowalewski (200-86, agency: Promotex) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Adam Linowski (201-87, agency: Promotex) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Znicz Basket players scored in double figures. point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-86) produced 17 points and center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) added 5 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Stal Ostrow's coach Mikolaj Czaja rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Znicz Basket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Stal Ostrow at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Sokol Lancut. They were replaced at the leadership position by Krosno. Stal Ostrow will play next round against Zaglebie trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Znicz Basket will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Pogon Prudnik on the road.
