Regular Season Round 10: Dandenong R. - Sydney UF 91-72

Date: December 20, 2014
The game in Dandenong was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Sydney Uni Flames (7-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Dandenong Rangers (6-7). Dandenong Rangers did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-72. Dandenong Rangers outrebounded Sydney Uni Flames 42-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Dandenong Rangers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Swingman Alice Kunek (187-91) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Penny Taylor (185-81) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. International point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah, agency: LBM Management) produced 13 points and 8 assists and American forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dandenong Rangers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Canberra C. Loser Sydney Uni Flames keep the fourth position with six games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face Canberra Capitals (#5) on the road in the next round.
