Regular Season Round 23: Toyama Grouses - Iwate Big Bulls 77-73

Top ranked Iwate Big Bulls (20-3) recorded its third loss on the court of fourth ranked Toyama Grouses on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Toyama Grouses 77-73. Iwate Big Bulls were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Joho Masashi (183-82) chipped in 15 points. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Toyama Grouses and four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses maintains fourth place with 16-7 record. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Kyoto Hannar.. Toyama Grouses are again looking forward to face league's leader Iwate Big Bulls at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round.
