Regular Season Round 15: Trefl II Sopot - KUKS Koszalin 80-57

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked KUKS Koszalin (0-12) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Trefl II Sopot (7-5) 80-57 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-57. Trefl II Sopot forced 19 KUKS Koszalin turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Pawel Dzierzak (190-95) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists. Forward Michal Kolenda (200-97) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Trefl II Sopot players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Pawel Czubak (186-93) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and Robert Gibaszek (192-93) added 12 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Trefl II Sopot maintains fourth place in Group A with 7-5 record. KUKS Koszalin lost their twelfth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face Asseco II (#6) in Gdynia in the next round. KUKS Koszalin will play on the road against SMS PZKosz (#7) in Wladyslawowo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
