Regular Season Round 15: Aishin AW - Chanson V-M 66-63

The most exciting game of round 15 in the WJBL took place in Anjo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Chanson V-M (10-4) to eighth ranked Aishin Wings (4-10) 66-63 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chanson V-M. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 19-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Wings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 80.0 percentage. It was a good game for the former international swingman Tanaka Masaki (171-88) who led her team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Aishin Wings' coach YuTzu Li used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) answered with 14 points and 4 steals and the former international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Chanson V-M. Aishin Wings maintains eighth place with 4-10 record. Chanson V-M at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Aishin Wings are looking forward to face league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chanson V-M will play at home against the league's leader Denso Iris where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
