Mantovana (#9) forced the game against Trieste (#6) into an overtime, but lost by one point 78-79. The hosts were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They eventually won an overtime period 10-9. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 23 rebounds. The former international Stefano Tonut (194-93) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 8 points and 15 rebounds and international Riccardo Moraschini (191-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mantovana. Trieste have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Novipiu Casale. Newly promoted Mantovana dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Trieste will play against Fileni BPA Jesi (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mantovana will play against Agrigento (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
