There was no surprise in Tokyo where 4th placed Hyogo S. (8-12) was crushed by first ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (18-4) 102-82 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 60-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hitachi Sunrockers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hyogo S.'s 42 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.
