There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 11th ranked Shanghai Sharks (11-11) were defeated by third ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (17-5) 112-105 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 60-52 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Taiwanese guard Zhijie Lin (192-82) chipped in 25 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists and his fellow American import power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-5 record having six points less than leader Liaoning H., which they share with Beijing Ducks. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Shandong FB. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will meet Beijing Ducks (#4) on the road in the next round. Shanghai Sharks will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#7) and hope to secure a win.
