Regular Season Round 13: Zaglebie - AZS PP 95-67

There was no surprise in Sosnowiec where 13th ranked AZS PP (2-11) was crushed by ninth ranked Zaglebie (6-7) 95-67 on Sunday. The game without a history. Zaglebie led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to AZS PP's 30. They outrebounded AZS PP 41-30 including 26 on the defensive glass. Zaglebie looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by AZS PP's players. Pawel Bogdanowicz (197-87) fired 30 points and 5 assists for the winners. Marek Piechowicz (201-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-90) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Piotr Janowski (195-93) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zaglebie have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Astoria Bydg. AZS PP lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Zaglebie will face league's second-placed Stal Ostrow in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PP will play on the road against SKK Siedlce (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
