Regular Season Round 13: Legnano - Tortona 67-82

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the A2 Silver was a home defeat of 6th ranked Legnano (6-7) by eighth ranked Tortona (7-6) who outscored them by 15 points 82-67 in the game for the sixth place. The game was mostly controlled by Tortona. Legnano managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized Brazilian Jonathan Tavernari (198-87, college: BYU) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tortona players scored in double figures. Tortona's coach Demis Cavina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (201-88, college: Georgia St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American guard John Merchant (187-89, college: Dowling) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Tortona moved-up to sixth place. Legnano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Tortona are looking forward to face league's second-placed Treviso Basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Legnano will play against Naturhouse Ferrara (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
