Very expected game in Rishon Le-Zion where 12th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-10) was crushed by third ranked Maccabi Rishon (9-4) 84-63 on Monday. The game without a history. Maccabi Rishon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi Rishon shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Maccabi Ashdod only scored five points from the stripe. Maccabi Ashdod was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St., agency: Priority Sports) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international swingman Shawn Dawson (196-93) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St., agency: Comsport) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
