Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Brasilia (4-8) defeated at home 15th ranked SKY/Basquete (2-9) 81-68 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Brasilia. SKY/Basquete was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brasilia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to SKY/Basquete's 30. They outrebounded SKY/Basquete 47-26 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Ronald Reis (211-91) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and Fernando Fischer (190-81) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brasilia moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Uberlandia and Macae. SKY/Basquete lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Brasilia will face bottom-ranked Liga Sorocaba (#16) in Sorocabana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SKY/Basquete will play at home against Paulistano and hope to win that game.
