Regular Season Round 15: Clinicas Rincon - Cocinas.com 69-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked Clinicas Rincon (4-10) lost to fourteenth ranked Cocinas.com (4-10) in Malaga 69-79. It looked good early as Clinicas Rincon took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cocinas.com had a 23-13 second period charge getting the lead and Clinicas Rincon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-79. Cocinas.com made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Cocinas.com outrebounded Clinicas Rincon 32-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Czech point guard Jakub Kudlacek (193-90) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alfonso Sanchez (198-87) who recorded 26 points and the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cocinas.com moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Clinicas Rincon. Cocinas.com's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ourense (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
