The game in Tripoli was also quite interesting. Leader Al Riyadi (5-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Al Moutahed (1-4). Al Riyadi managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78 on Monday. Al Moutahed trailed by 20 points after 3 quarters before a 23-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-86 at the end of the game. Al Riyadi made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Al Moutahed's players. The former international guard Amir Saoud (187-91) stepped up and scored 30 points and 6 assists for the winners and American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 23 points and 13 rebounds. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) responded with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Charles Tabet (205-87, college: S.Alabama) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al Riyadi. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-0 record behind leader Sagesse. Al Moutahed lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Al Riyadi will face UBA (#3) in Byblos in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
