Regular Season Round 11: Grodno-93 - GOCOR-Sozh 93-65

There was a change at the Premier League leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader GOCOR-Sozh (9-1). They were crushed by third ranked Grodno-93 (9-1) 93-65 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of GOCOR-Sozh. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Grodno-93 forced 20 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for international point guard Vyacheslau Korzh (192-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 assists. Point guard Artem Malkov (185-88) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Center Pavel Bliznets (210-94) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (185-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) scored 10 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 keeps a position of league leader, which they share with GOCOR-Sozh and Tsmoki II.
