The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (18-5) in Tokyo on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Chiba Jets (13-10) 65-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Kosuke Ishii contributed with 18 points for the winners. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chiba Jets moved-up to fourth place. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Chiba Jets are looking forward to face Kumamoto V. (#6) at home in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Tsukuba R. (#7) and are hoping to win this game.
