Regular Season Round 23: Foshan LL - Jiangsu D. 135-120

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (7-16) lost on the road to tenth ranked Foshan (13-10) 135-120. The game was mostly controlled by Foshan. Jiangsu Dragons was better in third quarter 41-40. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Foshan outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 46-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) produced 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: David Lee services) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Foshan and five Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Foshan. They maintain tenth place with 13-10 record. Jiangsu Dragons lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Foshan's next round opponent will be higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (#9) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Sichuan BW (#18) and hope to win that game.
