Regular Season Round 13: Monaco - Evreux 63-59

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Monaco (8-4) beat at home 8th ranked ALM Evreux (7-6) 63-59 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-7. But ALM Evreux won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco dominated on the defensive end, holding ALM Evreux to just 7 points in first quarter. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) nailed 18 points for the winning side and American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) came up with 14 points and 7 assists and naturalized Mali Sambou Traore (199-79) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for ALM Evreux in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Monaco moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Boulazac. Loser ALM Evreux keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Le Portel. Monaco will meet Saint-Quentin (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ALM Evreux will play against Denain Voltaire and hope to secure a win.
