Regular Season Round 13: Angers BC - Boulazac 66-72

There was no surprise when 17th ranked Angers BC (2-11) lost at home to fifth ranked Boulazac Basket (8-4) 72-66 on Tuesday. Angers BC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Boulazac Basket made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Angers BC turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Boulazac Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Guard Xavier Gaillou (192-89) nailed 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Nigerian forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: KMG Sports Management) accounted for 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. American power forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Julien Bestron (205-86) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Angers BC in the defeat. Angers BC's coach Vincent Lavandier rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boulazac Basket maintains fifth place with 8-4 record, which they share with Monaco. Angers BC lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Boulazac Basket will meet at home Nantes (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Angers BC will play against Orchesien BC (#3) in Orchies and hope to secure a win.
