There was a small surprise in Yinzhou where fifth ranked Bayi Kylin (10-9) defeated second-ranked Shanghai Octopus (14-4) 80-66 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 14 points. Bayi Kylin shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 68.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Xue Wang (185-93) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bayi Kylin players scored in double figures. American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Jing Huang (183-85) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Bayi Kylin maintains fifth place with 10-9 record. Loser Shanghai Octopus keep the second position with four games lost. Bayi Kylin will face Guangdong Dolphins (#6) in Guangzhou in the next round. Shanghai Octopus will play at home against Shenyang Golden Lions (#7) and hope to win that game.
