Regular Season Round 23: Chongqing FD - TianJin S. 107-119

Very expected game when 20th ranked Chongqing FD (3-20) lost to thirteenth ranked TianJin Steel (8-15) in Guangzhou 107-119. The game was mostly controlled by TianJin Steel. Chongqing FD was better in third quarter 33-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TianJin Steel shot 65.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for TianJin Steel especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Chongqing FD helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who scored 38 points (!!!). Forward XiangLong Meng (197-89) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) produced 51 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Iranian Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) added 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals respectively for the hosts. TianJin Steel maintains thirteenth place with 8-15 record. Chongqing FD lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 20 lost games. TianJin Steel's next round opponent will be higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#5) in Taiyuan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
