The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Liaoning Hunters (22-2) in Yingkou on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (17-6) 97-94. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Liaoning Hunters. Liaoning Hunters trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 34-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 94-97 at the end of the game. Shanxi Zhongyu forced 25 Liaoning Hunters turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Liaoning Hunters helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) answered with a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 12 steals and forward TianJu He (203-90) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Liaoning Hunters. Four Shanxi Zhongyu and five Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangsha L. Liaoning Hunters at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Shanxi Zhongyu is looking forward to face TianJin Steel (#13) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Liaoning Hunters will play at home against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
