Regular Season Round 12: Gorgan - Mahram 76-73

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Gorgan. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Mahram (9-2) to seventh ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (4-7) 76-73 on Thursday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mahram. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mahram won fourth quarter 26-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shahrdari Gorgan forced 19 Mahram turnovers. 34 personal fouls committed by Mahram helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international power forward Sasoon Abramian (208-87) who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Pouya Tajik (201-80) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International Oshin Sahakian (200-86) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Mousa Nabipour (211-83) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Mahram. Shahrdari Gorgan moved-up to sixth place. Mahram at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Shahrdari Gorgan are looking forward to face higher ranked Petrochimi (#3) in Bandar Imam in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mahram will play at home against PMINA Esfahan and is hoping to win this game.
