The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Liaoning Hengye's (12-10) home victory over second-best Whale (7-15) 82-49 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Liaoning Hengye. Whale was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Whale to just 4 points in first quarter. Liaoning Hengye dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Whale's 32. They outrebounded Whale 43-15 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Jiamei Liang (182-92) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Center Qiu Fujin (188-95) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Xiaomeng Chen (179-90) who recorded 12 points and Taiwanese guard Ya Hui (165-77) added 10 points respectively. Liaoning Hengye maintains first position in Places 9-12 with 12-10 record. Whale lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the second place with 15 games lost.
