Regular Season Round 24: Guangdong ST - Fujian QB 109-94

Very predictable result in Dongguan where second ranked Guandong Tigers (20-3) defeated 16th ranked Fujian (5-19) 109-94 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Fujian was better in second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds and international Shang Gao (200-94) who added 18 points during the contest. Guandong Tigers' coach Feng Du used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international Zhelin Wang (215-94) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Five Guandong Tigers and four Fujian players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-3 record having five points less than leader Liaoning H. Loser Fujian dropped to the seventeenth place with 19 games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Foshan (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Bayi Rockets (#19) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
