An interesting game took place in Hangzhou where higher ranked Shandong Bulls (12-12) were upseton the court of fifteenth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (7-17) 120-111 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 120-111. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank outrebounded Shandong Bulls 50-33 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 7 blocks. Shandong Bulls were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) who added 32 points and 25 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) scored 19 points. Five Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank maintains fifteenth position with 7-17 record. Loser Shandong Bulls keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will face higher ranked Qingdao Eagles (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
