Regular Season Round 7: Kutaisi - MIA Academy 76-74

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader MIA (5-2). They were edged by fourth ranked Kutaisi (5-2) 76-74 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of MIA. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-74. Kutaisi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for forward Giorgi Barbakadze (203-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashayev (188-83) helped adding 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Kutaisi's coach Malkhaz Kokhreidze used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Akaki Lomouri (198-91) responded with 19 points and international point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five MIA players scored in double figures. Kutaisi moved-up to second place, which they share with Rustavi and MIA Academy.
