Bottom-ranked Juvecaserta (0-12) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 12th consecutive match to seventh ranked Air Avellino (7-5) 105-91 on Friday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Air Avellino. Juvecaserta managed to win fourth quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Air Avellino dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Juvecaserta's 36 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) chipped in 21 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Michele Antonutti (202-86) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Air Avellino and four Juvecaserta players scored in double figures. Juvecaserta's coach Vincenzo Esposito rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Air Avellino have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vanoli CR and Dolomiti En. TR. Juvecaserta at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Air Avellino will meet at home higher ranked Enel Brindisi (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Juvecaserta will play against Banco di Srd (#4) in Sassari and hopes to get finally their first victory.
