Regular Season Round 24: DongGuan L. - Foshan LL 122-110

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Foshan's (13-11) road loss to ninth ranked DongGuan Leopards (14-9) 110-122 on Friday. The game without a history. DongGuan Leopards led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Foshan's 40 and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Foshan 52-41 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) who added 26 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards' coach Brian Goorjian used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) with 40 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. DongGuan Leopards maintains ninth position with 14-9 record. Loser Foshan keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. DongGuan Leopards will face Sichuan BW (#18) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Foshan will play against the league's second-placed Guandong Tigers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
