Date: December 26, 2014
Rather predictable result when first ranked New Zealand Breakers (13-5) won against 5th ranked Kings (7-8) in Sydney 97-85 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by New Zealand Breakers. Kings was better in third quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. New Zealand swingman Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St., agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. New Zealand Breakers' coach Dean Vickerman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and international swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: GRU) added 25 points in the effort for Kings.
