There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked STB Le Havre (7-8) beat at home higher ranked Chalon/Saor (7-8) 79-70 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-12. But Chalon/Saor won third quarter 21-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. STB Le Havre looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Tyrone Brazelton (183-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Dominican swingman Ricardo Greer (197-78, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. STB Le Havre moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Chalon/Saor. STB Le Havre will meet higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalon/Saor will play against Le Mans (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
