Cimberio Varese (#9) forced the game against Banco di Srd (#6) into an overtime, but lost by four points 113-117. The game took place in Varese. But the guests from Sassari were better at the end. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cimberio Varese. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-21. But Cimberio Varese won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Cimberio Varese used huge pressure winning it 24-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 27-31. Banco di Srd players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Cimberio Varese helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Dominican point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) who led his team to a victory with 40 points (!!!) and 5 assists. American guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) contributed with 30 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Banco di Srd's coach Romeo Sacchetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island) replied with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import forward Ed Daniel (201-90, college: Murray St.) added 23 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Cimberio Varese. Five Cimberio Varese players scored in double figures. Banco di Srd (8-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Cimberio Varese at the other side dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Banco di Srd's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Juvecaserta (#16) in Caserta which should be an easy win for them. Cimberio Varese will play on the road against Upea CdO (#12) in Capo d'Orlando and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
