Regular Season Round 25: Yokohama BC - Oita H.Devils 74-76

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Oita Heat Devils (8-15) edged on the road 11th ranked Yokohama BC (4-21) 76-74 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Yokohama BC won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oita Heat Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Kellen Thornton (201-88, college: Tennessee St., agency: David Lee services) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Khyle Marshall (198-92, college: Butler) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Oita Heat Devils maintains seventh place with 8-15 record. Yokohama BC lost their twelfth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 21 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again at home against Oita Heat Devils (#7) and hope to win that game.
