NBL top team - Hitachi Sunrockers (20-5) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Tsukuba R. (0-24) in Tokyo 82-63. The game without a history. Hitachi Sunrockers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Tsukuba R. 39-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains first place with 20-5 record. Loser Tsukuba R. still closes the standings with 24 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
